The Book Bank

The Philly Book Bank provides free, high-quality, culturally diverse books to children, families, and educators across Philadelphia — helping create book-rich homes, classrooms, and community spaces so every child can discover the joy of reading.

We offer a curated selection of books for all ages, and as diverse as our city.

We are supported by the kind and generous donations of many individual, community, and corporate partners.

To pick up your donation, go to the Haines Street parking lot by the dumpsters, call (215) 279-7450 and we will bring out your donation.

The Book Bank is open for donation pickups on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 6:00 pm, appointments encouraged.

We follow the School District of Philadelphia calendar and closures.

Families can request 25 books, and we will box them for you. 

Teachers can request 50 books, and we will box them up for you.
